Ultrasound examination
An ultrasound scan at NYO Clinic gives a clear picture of exactly where old filler is located and can help identify any complications. It's a quick and painless way to get a full check on your skin's status after previous treatments.

Prices and combination with Hyalase
The price of an ultrasound scan is SEK 1290 per session. If you want to combine the examination with a Hyalase treatment, you only pay an extra SEK 890 for the ultrasound as an addition to the treatment cost.
Please note that if you have not had a recent consultation with us (within 6 months), you will need to book a telephone consultation before the Hyalase treatment. We will help you get started in the best way with clear instructions and personalised support.
Ultrasound examination is appropriate if you experience swelling, unevenness or suspect that filler has migrated from the treated area. It may also be appropriate if you want a thorough examination prior to a possible dissolving treatment with Hyalas. Our examination will help you and our specialists to create a safe and effective plan based on your skin's needs.
We only use ultrasound in cases where there is uncertainty, or when it cannot be determined by palpation alone. At NYOclinic, we have over ten years of experience working with filler and Hyalase. This means that in the vast majority of cases we can locate old filler by careful physical examination with our hands. After so many years, you get to know very clearly where the filler is and how it has been placed in the tissue. Therefore, an ultrasound scan is not always needed before a Hyalase treatment.
However, ultrasound is an important safety measure when treating high-risk areas such as the nose, temples and forehead. For example, for nose corrections, we always perform an ultrasound scan to visualise the vessels. If the vessels are located where we planned to inject, we refrain from the treatment altogether - safety always comes first.
Ultrasound is not usually needed before a Hyalase treatment
So our primary use of ultrasound is to prevent complications, such as necrosis or vascular damage, rather than to routinely look for old filler. Ultrasound can also be a valuable tool for visualising filler deposits or identifying inflammation, but is only used when it adds value. At our practice, these examinations are included when we deem them necessary, at no extra cost to you as a patient.
