HiEMS Muscle Stimulation 02

Electrical muscle stimulation with HiEMS

Would you like to strengthen your muscles, achieve a more defined body shape and aid fat reduction? HiEMS is a modern body-sculpting treatment that uses electromagnetic technology to stimulate intense muscle contractions.

Unlike conventional muscle stimulation, this technique activates the muscles in a way that is not possible even through voluntary exercise.

What is HiEMS?

HiEMS stands for High-Intensity Electromagnetic Stimulation and is based on the same type of high-intensity electromagnetic technology often referred to as HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) or HI-EMT (High-Intensity Electromagnetic Technology). The terms describe the same thing – generating powerful muscle contractions using electromagnetic fields.

Unlike traditional electric muscle stimulation, where electrodes send electrical impulses through the skin, HiEMS uses an electromagnetic field to activate the muscles without any electrical current passing through the body. The aim of HiEMS is to strengthen the muscles, and the treatment is used on areas such as the abdomen, buttocks and thighs for those who wish to complement an active lifestyle with a professional treatment designed to enhance muscle activation and body sculpting.

How does the treatment work?

During the treatment, an applicator is placed on the area to be treated. The electromagnetic technology stimulates the muscles to perform thousands of powerful contractions during a single treatment session.

A session lasts around 60 minutes. Most people describe the treatment as intense but not painful. Your muscles are actively working whilst you lie comfortably on the treatment table.

For best results, we often recommend a course of four to six treatments, spaced a few days apart. The number of treatments required depends on your goals and individual circumstances.

Which areas can be treated?

HiEMS is mainly used in areas where the aim is to strengthen the muscles and create a more defined silhouette.

Common areas of treatment are:

  • Mage
  • The gluteal muscles
  • Front and back of the thigh

The treatment can help to increase muscle activation, improve muscle tone and create a more defined body shape. For many people, HiEMS is a valued complement to other body treatments to achieve a more comprehensive result.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

HiEMS is suitable for women and men who want to strengthen their muscles and supplement their training with professional muscle stimulation. It is important to remember that the treatment is not a substitute for regular exercise, strength training or a healthy lifestyle. It works best as a complement to an active lifestyle and a balanced diet.

During the consultation, we will discuss your goals and assess whether the treatment is suitable based on your individual circumstances.

HiEMS compared with traditional muscle stimulation

There are many electrical muscle stimulation devices on the market, such as EMS and TENS units. These use electrical impulses to stimulate muscles or relieve pain, but operate at a significantly lower intensity than professional HiEMS technology.

HiEMS, HIFEM and HI-EMT, on the other hand, use high-intensity electromagnetic fields that can produce significantly stronger muscle contractions than traditional EMS systems. The technology is therefore used for treatments that focus on building muscle, improving muscle definition and body sculpting.

Results following HiEMS

Many people find that their muscles feel activated immediately after the treatment, much like after an intense workout. Visible results usually develop gradually over the following weeks as the body adapts to the increased muscle activity.

The extent of the changes achieved varies from person to person and is influenced by factors such as level of physical activity, diet, body composition and individual biological factors. To maintain the results, maintenance treatments can be combined with regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
