CO₂ Laser – The most powerful anti-ageing treatment we offer
CO₂ laser treatment is an advanced, deep-acting treatment for those who wish to achieve noticeable, long-lasting improvements in the skin’s texture, firmness and quality. The effect does not come from the surface – it rebuilds the skin from within through intensive collagen stimulation.
This is a treatment for those who want to see real change, not just a temporary glow.

Anti-ageing – when you want to really turn back the clock
CO₂ laser treatment is one of the most effective methods for:
- Reduce deep lines and wrinkles
- Tighten sagging skin
- Improve elasticity and firmness
- Smooth out the skin’s texture
- Reduce pore size
- Give you a more even, clear and youthful complexion
It’s a ”big impact” treatment for those who want results that really show.
Acne scars – for box and rolling scars
CO₂ lasers are highly effective for:
- Box scars
- Rolling scars
(However, other methods are more effective for ice-pick scars, which is why we do not treat these with CO₂ as the first-line treatment.)
The treatment works deeply and in a controlled manner to smooth out skin imperfections that are otherwise difficult to treat.
Eyes & Throat – one of the few options that really delivers results
- Bags under the eyes
- Fine lines and crepey skin
- Loose neckline (“neck lines”)
CO₂ laser treatment provides a noticeable lifting effect and improvement without surgery.
Body treatments
Ideal for those who:
- Stretch marks
- Loose skin on the stomach, arms and thighs
- Scars from surgery or injuries
Downtime – here’s the truth
CO₂ laser treatments require a recovery period, and it is important to be aware of this before you book:
- 5–10 days during which the skin is red, swollen and scabbed over
- 2–4 weeks of pink skin
- 3–6 months of collagen remodelling
It’s not a quick ”fix”. It’s an investment in the long-term health of your skin.
Can you adjust the intensity? Absolutely.
CO₂ lasers are a versatile technology and can be operated at different intensity levels depending on what you wish to achieve.
- Simple treatment: Offers a gentle improvement with less downtime. Perfect if you want results without spending a week on the sofa.
- Moderate: Provides a noticeable improvement in skin texture, lines and pores.
- High intensity: Maximum anti-ageing effect, powerful collagen stimulation and the most dramatic lift – with a longer recovery time.
This means that the treatment can be tailored to both your life circumstances and your level of ambition.
To give your skin the best possible care, we recommend that you:
- Avoid sun, acids and retinol during the last week
- Has a stable and healthy skin barrier
- Optimise your skin with the ESSE Pre- & Post-Care Kit (optional but highly recommended)
- Supports the body’s natural healing process with vitamins and high-quality omega-3
Dietary supplements prior to CO₂ laser treatment
A body that heals well produces better skin results.
Before your treatment, we recommend that you:
- Vitamin C – supports collagen formation and wound healing
- Zinc – important for immune function and the repair of skin tissue
- Omega-3 – reduces inflammation and improves the skin’s ability to recover
We offer high-quality premium omega-3 in both our online shop and directly at the clinic.
ESSE Pre- & Post-Care Kit
Price: 2,490 SEK
This kit has been developed to strengthen the skin barrier ahead of advanced treatments and to improve the healing process afterwards.
Contains:
- High levels of live probiotics and prebiotics – strengthen the skin’s microbiome
- Oils close to the skin – support the skin’s barrier
- Mild lactic acid – keeps the skin clean and balanced
The creams are mixed with a common activator, and the products last considerably longer than two weeks.
The kit is available to buy both online and at the clinic. It isn’t a requirement – but it can reduce downtime and make the healing process considerably smoother.
Risks associated with CO₂ lasers
All advanced laser treatments carry potential risks – here are the most important ones to be aware of.
1. Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
The most common complication. The risk is higher in the following cases:
- darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–VI)
- a recent sun tan or tanning session
- inadequate sun protection following treatment
- inflammatory skin conditions
SPF 50+ is compulsory for several weeks.
2. Hypopigmentation
Less common but may occur, in particular:
- at high intensity
- in sensitive areas
- in people with sun-damaged skin
3. Impaired wound healing / infection
The risk increases if:
- the skin is being picked at
- crusts are scraped off
- if you exercise early in the day or expose yourself to heat
- if you do not keep your skin clean or follow the aftercare instructions
4. Erythema (redness) that persists for a long time
Normally up to 2–4 weeks, but some people may experience persistent redness for several months. It is completely harmless, but requires patience.
5. Temporary swelling
Most common around the eyes and mouth. Usually lasts 48–72 hours.
6. Temporary tingling, a burning sensation or discomfort
This is perfectly normal during the first few days.
7. Milia (small white bumps)
May occur during the healing process but usually disappears on its own or can be easily removed at a follow-up appointment.
8. Scarring (rare but possible)
The risk increases in the following circumstances:
- inappropriate aftercare
- picking at one’s skin
- infection
- treatment of individuals predisposed to hypertrophic/keloid scars
People who are prone to keloids should not be treated.
Summary – who is most at risk?
Highest risk of pigment changes:
- Fitzpatrick IV–VI
- People who have recently been sunbathing or are planning to sunbathe
- People with a history of PIH
- People who do not use SPF correctly
Highest risk of poor healing:
- Immunosuppression
- Cortisone treatment
- Smokers
- Inadequate aftercare
- Nutrient deficiencies (low levels of protein, zinc, vitamin C and omega-3)
