In this article we will talk about the new technology behind Topilase and how it can help those who are thinking about starting fillers treatments or fixing treatments that have already been done.
What is Topilase?
Topilase is a solution that has both hyaluronidase and herbal ingredients such as aloe vera, lavender and helichrysum. It has been prepared in such a way that it penetrates the skin when we massage the cream where we have previous fillers.
It gives us a needle-free option to break down hyaluronic acid, albeit at a much more subtle level than with the injectable version.
Dr Nina in Gothenburg says: "It doesn't completely dissolve fillers, but it does reduce them."
It is a gentler treatment than hyalase injections, and has so far not resulted in any side effects such as allergies, swelling, bruising or other problems.
In a pilot study, a number of women who had problems with their lips and/or under-eye area after receiving fillers received between one and three rounds of Topilase. The subjects were 23 to 54 years old with a varied range of skin types. The majority of them saw the affected areas improve after.
How it works
When you come to see us at DrNinas in Gothenburg, we will first examine the area to be treated with topilase. If we think you are a good candidate for the treatment, we can start the treatment right away.
A few drops of topilase are applied to your migrated fillers and we then perform specific massaging movements to allow the topilase to penetrate the skin. The cream is pleasant and feels nothing. You can go home straight afterwards without any redness or swelling.
