Lip fillers normally last for 4-6 months and up to 1-2 years. The first time you are treated with fillers, your body breaks them down faster and the results do not last as long.

We usually recommend 1-2 treatments about 2-3 months apart initially to build up the lips to the desired shape and get a long-lasting result. It then becomes increasingly durable the more times you have treated an area.

Exactly how long the lip augmentation lasts is individual and depends a little on your metabolism.

The lips are a sensitive area and the stings can be a bit painful. We have a super-strong anaesthetic ointment that is left on before your treatment.

Many of our fillers also contain a little dental anaesthetic in the syringe itself. This usually results in the lips becoming completely numb after a few injections.

We always take the treatment at the pace that feels right for you, and if you need breaks, we'll take as many as you like!

Results are visible immediately after treatment. However, we usually say that the final result is achieved after 2 weeks. By this time, the hyaluronic acid has integrated well into the skin and all swelling is gone.

As long as the filler is hyaluronic acid based, it can be treated with different brands.

It may be good to wait 3 months before being treated with a new brand. However, you should not mix permanent fillers with temporary ones.

To reduce the risk of bruising, we recommend that you do not take any NSAIDs, such as Ipren, Diclofenac or Naproxen. Alvedon is fine if you have pain.

Discontinue Omega-3 or other types of natural supplements 1-2 weeks before treatment, as these may have a blood-thinning effect.

If you are on other blood thinners, you can talk to your prescribing doctor about possibly taking a break for 1-2 days in connection with your fillers treatment.

Yes, it is perfectly ok to go back to work after the treatment or the day after.

If it's the first time you're treating your lips, it might be good to have the day off to see how much swelling and bruising occurs.

The most common side effect of a filler treatment is a slight and temporary swelling in the area being treated. Bruising may also occur but can be easily concealed with a little make-up.

More serious complications such as infection or oxygen deprivation of the skin are very rare but can happen. It is therefore important that you go to a doctor with extensive experience in the treatment.

This way, you not only reduce the risk of complications, but we can also correct and help if something happens.

We prefer that you do not apply make-up for 4-6 hours after your treatment to reduce the risk of infection.

After lip fillers, exercise should be avoided for at least 24 hours. Any physical activity that increases body temperature can increase blood flow to the area, and can usually make swelling and bruising slightly worse.

Make-up and creams of any kind should be avoided for the first few hours after lip fillers, to reduce the risk of infection. Direct sunlight, sunbeds and saunas should also be avoided for the first few days after treatment.

If you are planning to have any other kind of treatment, such as a facial, laser or similar, you can schedule this 2 weeks after your filler treatment.

If you have any kind of autoimmune disease, it's a good idea to consult your doctor before using lip fillers.

If you have an infection in the area, such as herpes or acne, it may be a good idea to let these heal first.

We recommend that you avoid kissing for about 24 hours after your lip filler treatment, or as long as you have the worst swelling. When the swelling starts to go down, it is ok to kiss.

We recommend this partly to avoid getting bacteria into the treated area, and partly so that you don't risk changing the shape of your newly made lips.

Yes, this is actually a question that is asked and therefore we thought we would address it here.

Generally speaking, we recommend avoiding all movements where you mould your lips into an "O". I.e., kissing, drinking from a straw, smoking, etc.

When you shape the lips into an O, you tighten the muscles around the lip, and this in turn increases the risk of the filler migrating, or ending up outside the lip contour itself. Especially in the early days when the filler is fresh and has not yet stabilised/integrated into the skin.

The same applies, of course, to oral sex, and we therefore recommend not having this for about 1 week after your treatment.

• Avoid sauna, solarium, spa for 1 week
• Avoid hot showers on the day of your treatment
• Avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours
• Avoid exercising for 24 hours
• No smoking for at least 6 hours (snus is fine after 4 hours)

As there have been no studies on pregnant or breastfeeding women, no safety can be guaranteed during this period. Wait until you are done with it and we can refresh you afterwards instead.

It is ok to have a drink a few hours after your treatment. But in moderation.

It is best to avoid tobacco for 3 hours after treatment. If you are treating your lips, you should not smoke for 1 day to avoid changing the shape of your lips.

No, you won't. If you stop using fillers, you will return to your original appearance. Fillers have also been shown to increase collagen production in the skin and act as an anti-ageing treatment.

Yes, fillers based on hyaluronic acid can be removed. Then we use hyalase which breaks down most of the filler in 24 hours and your appearance is restored to before treatment.

Brands of fillers that are not based on hyaluronic acid, such as Radiesse, Sculptra and Bellafill, cannot be broken down by hyalase. Therefore, they cannot be removed even if a complication occurs. This is why we do not use these brands in our clinic.

A lip lift is a surgical treatment, where a small incision is made in the crease at the base of the nose. The skin on top of the lip is removed and sewn together further up.

A surgeon is required for a lip lift and we do not offer it. Lip lift is suitable for those who think that the distance between lip and nose is too long and want an outward-facing lip.
