Acne scars - Treatments that really work
Acne scars are one of the most complex skin problems to treat. Scars vary in depth, appearance and cause - and therefore require combination treatments, patience and a strategic treatment plan.
There is no quick-fix. Results build incrementally, and each treatment is a step closer to smoother, stronger skin.
At NYOclinic, we work with the most advanced methods on the market to improve acne scars, from RF microneedling and subcision to polynucleotides, TCA cross and CO₂ laser.

Brief descriptions of the treatments
Sylfirm-X (RF microneedling)
Treats the whole face, going down into pores and scar channels.
Provides precision treatment for scars, while giving you a full anti-ageing effect: tighter skin, smaller pores, improved pigmentation and reduced redness.
Polynucleotides (PN)
Small fragments of salmon DNA that deeply repair the skin.
Ideal for ice pick scars, where PN helps the scar base to build up and strengthen over time.
TCA-CROSS
Concentrated TCA acid is applied pointwise to each scar with a toothpick. Creates a controlled ”frosting” that causes the scars to contract and become less visible.
Subcision
A blunt cannula to release scar bands that pull down the skin.
Critical treatment for rolling scars and deep box scars.
FRP
Taken from the patient's own blood. Stimulates healing and enhances subcision results.
CO₂ laser
An abrasive laser that smoothes out pits, edges and skin texture.
Ideal for boxcar scars and bumps.
Filler for acne scars
Used on deep scars to lift the scar wall and create a smoother surface.
Does not affect skin quality but provides rapid visual improvement.
How many treatments are needed?
It is entirely individual.
But as a guideline:
- Polynucleotides: 2 treatments
- Sylfirm-X: 2 treatments
- TCA-CROSS: 1 treatment → evaluation
- Subcision: 1-2 times depending on the scar band
- CO₂ laser: 1-2 treatments
We always set up a personalised treatment plan after consultation.
Our goal
Improving skin step by step.
The goal is continuous improvement, not magical quick-fix promises. Acne scars can be dramatically improved - but require a plan, precision and the right combination of methods.
