What is Sylfirm X and how does it differ from other microneedling treatments?

Sylfirm X is the latest generation of radiofrequency microneedling (RF microneedling) and the only one on the market with so-called Dual Wave technology. This means that the treatment uses both continuous and pulsed radio frequency, making it possible to work both deeply for skin tightening and superficially to treat pigmentation, redness and blood vessels - all in one treatment.

So, unlike older RF microneedling (e.g. Morpheus8) which mainly focuses on deep layers of skin, Sylfirm X can also effectively treat superficial problems. In addition, Sylfirm X is more precise, safer and less painful thanks to its controlled depth settings.

How does a treatment work and how does it feel?

The treatment always begins with the application of anaesthetic cream for around 45 minutes to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
The treatment itself takes 30-60 minutes depending on the area. Thin needles penetrate the skin and deliver radio frequency energy - this stimulates collagen and elastin production and improves skin texture. Most people experience only a mild stinging sensation thanks to the anaesthetic.

What is the recovery process like and what should I think about afterwards?

After treatment, redness and slight swelling are common, which usually subsides within a few hours. For sensitive skin, it can last up to 24 hours. In combination treatments (e.g. with Subcision and TCA-CROSS for acne scars), bruising and rough skin may occur for a few days.
Aftercare tips:

  • Avoid the sun for at least 5-10 days and use a high sun protection factor.
  • Keep your skin clean and moisturised.
  • Avoid make-up, exercise, saunas and active skincare products until your skin has recovered.
