Microtox

The difference is that during a regular botox treatment, we inject botox deeper into the muscles. It is the muscles that cause us to get wrinkles, and a botox treatment is therefore best suited if you want to get rid of lines on your face. If you still want movement, we can use smaller amounts of botox during your treatment.

During a microtox treatment, we stamp the botox into the outermost layer of skin instead. The muscles and mimicry are not affected and although you can get a small effect on fine lines on the face, this treatment is not optimal for wrinkles. Instead, it works on the skin for moisture and glow.

We then stamp in the mixture using about 20 small gold-plated needles that are about 0.5 cm deep. The needles do not go as deep as a classic microneedling treatment, and therefore do not create as much new collagen formation. However, it gives radiance and freshness directly

A microtox treatment is a gentle treatment suitable for all skin types and ages. We recommend microtox when you are primarily looking for radiance.

Microtox is ideal for important events or for the summer, when we often sweat more and want to look good without make-up.

What happens after a microtox treatment is that the pores contract and the production of sebum and sweat is reduced. Make-up stays on the skin better and has a more matte look.

Small capillaries contract and result in minor redness and on cheeks and around mouth.

When you come for a microtox treatment to us in Gothenburg, we fill a small container with small amounts of botox (hence the name microtox), hyaluronic acid (skin booster) and filorgas powerful serum containing vitamins and minerals.

Not really. There is nothing dangerous that can happen after a microtox treatment. However, we do not recommend exercising, going to the sauna, or washing your face on the day of the microtox treatment, so that the hyaluronic acid and botox can be properly absorbed by the skin cells.

Mild blood spots are also very rare, but may occur in some cases. Patients do not need to rest or recover after treatment and can resume normal activities immediately, except for some strenuous activities, such as exercise, for a few hours.

The results of Microtox usually last 3 months, with some individual variation depending on how quickly your body breaks down the cocktail. We at Dr Nina in Gothenburg use only the best serums and botox so that the results are as lasting as possible.

Maintenance treatments are recommended when needed for a quick and noticeable revitalisation.

A mironeedling treatment is a little more powerful than microtox because the needles can reach a depth of 2 mm, unlike microtox which only reaches a depth of 0.5 mm. You therefore get a more powerful collagen stimulation from a microneedling treatment, which is considered an anti-ageing treatment. Microneedling can be felt a bit and you get red and a little swollen afterwards.

Microtox treatment is gentler, does not hurt and has no downtime.

A Microtox treatment reduces the production of sebum, which microneedling does not, as we do not use botox during microneedling.
