Baby Botox
After over 20 years of cosmetic botox being on the market, a new treatment - baby botox - has been created through customer demand.
The Baby Botox trend started in Hollywood, when actors could not be treated with full-dose Botox because they needed to be able to maintain facial expressions during filming.

How does Baby Botox work?
Baby Botox works in the same way as regular Botox. It is exactly the same product injected in the same way and at the same points as Botox. The only difference is that we use smaller doses on a Baby Botox treatment, so that the end result is more natural and you still have some of your facial expression.

Is follow-up with baby botox included?
No, regular follow-up that is included in the traditional botox is not included in baby botox as the goal of regular botox is to get it completely stiff, while in baby botox there should be movement left. However, if you get an uneven result with, for example, crooked eyebrows, follow-up is of course included so that we correct the problem
Treated areas
When treating with baby botox, we recommend treating the entire upper part of the face during the same treatment, to give a balanced look. You can also apply baby botox to the jawline to relieve some tension. That said, the following are the areas that can be treated:
- Pannan
- Argrynkan/Glabella
- Crow kicking
- Bunny Lines
- Smoker's wrinkles
- Wrinkles under the eyes
- Hakan
- The jaws
Remember to do your research
Although new treatments and uses are being approved every day in the cosmetic industry, it is still important to do your own research.
Make sure to be thorough when trying to find the best baby Botox practitioner in Gothenburg.

Baby Botox vs. Botox
You may be surprised to learn that there is no other formula for Baby Botox.
Both treatments use the same strength of botulinum toxin, but it is a much more sensitive approach in the case of Baby Botox.
The doctor must be skilful to achieve the desired result with less product use, especially on the lower third of the face. This is where Baby Botox really comes into play.
It can be used to treat the Marionette lines around the mouth, which if left untreated give patients a perpetual sad look. It treats the rabbit lines on the nose and the smoker's lines, and in older women it can even be used to tighten the chin.
Baby Botox can be injected into the muscles where the jaw connects to the skull to prevent teeth from clenching and grinding. This means that Baby Botox can be helpful for people who want to address pain and pressure in the jaw.
As a side effect of this, patients noticed that these muscles relaxing give the jawline a V-shape and actually make the face slimmer. Win-win!
If you want to explore the lesser known uses of Baby Botox, you will need to visit a professional with a lot of experience, as there can be complications when injecting into the lower part of the face.

- Prevents the appearance of wrinkles
- Relieves tension in the jaw
Disadvantages of baby botox
The disadvantage of baby botox is that it doesn't last as long as regular botox treatment because smaller doses are used.
Another disadvantage is that it doesn't work as well on deep lines as regular botox. If you have wrinkles that have really left their mark, it is better to opt for regular botox which results in not being able to frown at all. In this way, you get a more powerful smoothing of your wrinkles.
At the clinic in Gothenburg, Dr Nina will explain which treatment is best for you to achieve the results you want.
Side effects of Baby Botox
Remember to book a consultation in person or by phone before your baby botox treatment.
The side effects of both types of Botox are similar. Baby Botox is generally a little safer than traditional Botox as smaller doses are given.
This may include bruising around the injection sites and asymmetric results.

As with regular Botox injections, there is the unusual risk of eyelid drooping, known as ptosis, if the Botox hits a nerve. This happens if aftercare is not followed and the Botox moves away from the points we injected. There is generally even less risk with Baby Botox because fewer units are used.
However, this is less of a risk with Baby Botox because fewer units are used, so it is less likely to be enough to relax a muscle completely.
